· Manual Handling Equipment (MHE), what it is and what it means ?

· Employers responsibilities for health and safety in a warehouse

· Employees responsibilities for health and safety in a warehouse. 

Day Two

Ensuring Health and Safety in a Warehouse Environment

· Understand the role of legislation within a warehousing and storage environment

· Determining the legal requirements for the storage and distribution of specific goods & materials

· Gaining clarity on how risk in the workplace affects roles and responsibilities

· Understand how to respond to incidents to the workplace

· Identifying appropriate sources of information about legislation

· Understanding the importance of protecting confidential information

· Determining the responsibilities with regards to health, safety and security in the workplace

· Understanding the aims and objectives of under taking risk assessments

· Understand the role of collection, storage and distribution

· Understand safety handling principles and security measures f or moving different types of goods

· Evaluate the factors that influence the flow of goods

· Compare between regular and non- regular services

· Learning about inter-modal, intra-modal and combined transport

· Identify an appropriate mode, or combination of modes, for an y movement of goods
